MENDELIAN GENETICS

The project has two components.

The first is an explanation of Mendel’s work into genetics including a description of his laws of genetics and how they work. Your explanation should include simple examples and show how the probability of inheritance is calculated.

The second is a more detailed illustration of Mendel’s laws, in which you design a plant with three different individual characteristics. Give each characteristic both a recessive and dominate trait. Cross a homogeneous plant (A) having only dominant traits with a homogeneous plant (B) having only recessive traits. Then cross two of these offspring and from these give four of the possible outcomes. Show their phenotypes and give the probability of obtaining each.
